Welcome to the internet home of percussionist and teacher Nick Ragheb.  Nick is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA) and is a teacher and performer of the darbuka (also known as the “doumbek”) and the kenar bendir (“frame drum”).  He has studied with both Turkish and Israeli master drummers and has spent time studying and performing Türk Halk Müziği (“Turkish Folk Music”) and Türk Sanat Müziği (“Turkish Classical Music”) as well as popular Arabic music. In addition to traditional music of the Near East, Nick has participated in many innovative musical projects, combining elements of many of the World’s rich musical traditions.
